About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

The First Snow of the Year

I opened my eyes, not too soon to see my children staring at me with glissining eyes. They were as excited as christmas morning to tell me .... IT SNOWED!!!...
I couldn't believe it until I saw it...but it sure did. It was a snow day....literally...NO CLEANING TODAY!
This was Mattie's first experience with the snow. She didn't run! I'm so glad because how can she be my next snowboarder if she was afraid of the snow?! She ate some and walked around in it and was excited!
Actually, today, she woke up and looked out the window and pointed because it was snowing! Can you believe that! I was so surprised.
Trey was outside ALL DAY. The one thing I love about him is I don't have to fight him to get him out the door. He is always up and ready to play.

Morgan didn't know what to think when I told her she could go to the sledding hill with Trey and his friends. She was gone for a good hour just hanging out with the big kids. I think it's important to see what it's like to hang out with your older siblings. It makes you feel big also.
She didn't complain once, where if it was with me, it would be "LETS GO BACK INSIDE." I need to get her tougher so she can go skiing this year.

Kids having fun on the trampoline! What does he plan to do with that sled?
Ok, so this is Trey and Cristoper...Treys neighbor friend. Cris is such a good worker. He came over today and asked if he could earn money chopping wood. So, of course I am not going to discourage any kid that wants to work for money. I told him a dollar a box and he filled up 2 for the day.
Since then, Trey has learned how to swing an ax. This is a tough one, I know what your all thinking, but this is a boy thing. He is 9. And he can do it. I will let you all know if I have to ship him to the hospital though.
Just to let you know, It's just a small ax.
So, these boys wanted a better base for splitting wood at Cris's house so they got the biggest stump and hauled it over to his house on the sled. It probably weighed a good 65 pounds! But they did it.
Here they go! What an adventure. I love snow days and today it is snowing even more and accumulating. That just means it's closer to snowboarding season!! I'm so excited.
