About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

WINTER BLUES

I know I should be...
1. CLEANING because the house we are renting is going to be shown today but I really don't want to.
2. WATCHING MY CHILDREN closely and doing fun stuff with them, but I have no energy.
3.READING MY SCRIPTURES but when do I have time
4.THINKING ABOUT WHAT IS FOR DINNER but I am not.
5.GETTING DRESSED but what is the point if you aren't going anywhere?
6.A LOAD OF LAUNDRY but I guess I'm not in any hurry. It will still be there.

SO, I ASK MYSELF, WHY AM I FEELING THIS WAY? I have no motivation today and it has been this way for a week! I yell at my kids, eat macaroni and cheese for dinner, and my laundry pile just keeps growing.

DAYS LIKE THIS IS WHEN I COULD REALLY USE SOME SUNSHINE. Winter months really take a toll on me, especially January. It's hard to stay possitive when you can't even turn on lights around your house because the stinking powerlines got nocked down by an avalanche. You can still use your power BUT it's going to cost you! ALot.

I don't know if you're looking for some ideas or just venting, but either way I hear ya! The weather and light in the winter can make it difficult to live here. And then the high electricity cost doesn't make it reasonable to turn on the lights. So you just sit in the darkness or semidarkness.
I know my doctor told me recently that if we just let our eyes see sunshine or light, it can really make a difference. So even though it's cloudy today, maybe you should bundle up your kids throw them into a sled and take a walk. It may do your body good to just get some sunlight into your eyes, even if the clouds are filtering the sun.
I'll be praying for you today.

haha you said why get dressed when you have no where to go lol. I think that too sometimes but then I just tell myself, do it! Make yourself look presentable even at home! You never know who could stop by ;)
