About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

Morning Walk

It was really nice to just get out of the house early this morning. I have had a cold, but I took some medicine earlier.
I called up my friend Sarai and we met up at the wet lands for a walk. It was nice to have a chance to chat and the sun even came out a little. Here are some pictures of the wetlands.
The Wet lands run all the way around the airport. It is really neat. The planes fly right over the top of you. Here is the huge 727 taking off, and flying over. And off it goes....lucky people. It was about 37 degrees?!...something like that. It actually isn't all that cold.Sarai and I getting ready to hit the path. Don't the kids look sooo excited? Just wait, it gets better. Our first stop: Information about the wet lands. If you click on the picture, you can see what it actually is. But what I know about the wet lands is that Ducks and other land birds nest here. I know it sounds kinda contradictory, but in the fall, there are hunters spread throughout this area. It is a really good hunting area. It is quite large and birds also migrate through here. It makes for beautiful walks.
Mattie. I love this little girl. I can't believe she is almost 2 years old. Words that describe her:full of energy, loving, happy, adventurous, mysterious, playful, and cute.

And her friend Issy is sweet as can be. I really miss watching her already since Sarai just had a baby and is on maternity leave.

Walking and hiking is relaxing to me. I love to see nature. The fresh air and natural light keeps me coming back for more. I appreciate the opportunity we have to go in the outdoors without a lot of restrictions. Hey, some places have beautiful trails but they are in state parks where you have to pay a fee. Not here in Alaska, It is all in your back yard.

Happy Easter to you too!! Yea, the country club does a lot of cool things and it's not too big of a crowd, so its really nice. However I wish that I could take nice long walks like you get to in Alaska! That looks beautiful! I would love to come up there and visit you sometime. Never been to Alaska, and always wanted to go!!
