We have procrastinated getting our passports. Now, it is required. To pass through Canada you have to have a passport. No exceptions. The only exception actually is that your children don't have to have theirs.
So, on July 4th, we are traveling into the interior of Alaska, which will require us to pass through Canada. We will be going through Canada as fast as we can to get back to the US, but I had to get the passport.
Because of the procrastination however, it cost me 209.00 for me and it will be another 209.00 for Andy!!! 414.00 for a PIECE OF PAPER! I am sick.
MY POINT: DON'T WAIT!!!!. Get it now. It will be 75.00 plus probably 25.00(including all the fees) out the door. This is what normal people pay that don't procrastinate and have 6 weeks for processing. If not, you will be in the same boat I am...cussing the good old US Govt.
Here is the breakdown of procrastination:
Passport: 149.85
Passport Fee: 25.00 (what is this for??)
Photo Service Fee: 15.00 (for the little picture they take of you)
Overnight priority Mail: 17.50
For a total of: 208.65
