About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

Stress Relief on a Monday

Good Monday to you all. It is the beginning of another week. It is raining outside but surprisingly,it doesn't feel too cold. It was 47 degrees at the glacier. I know, that is cold for most. Not for me anymore.
So life brought the kids and I to the Mendenhall glacier this morning for some exercise and fresh air. (Go here for more info.)The water was calm as the rain sprinkled off and on throughout the day. WHAT ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE TAKING PICTURES OF? It's SuperMan ! You all missed it. He swooped down out of the sky and Lois Lane was standing right next to me..

My 2 hams! This has to be one of my favorite pictures I have taken of the girls. It was taken with the regular old Canon Rebel ...-with the lens that came with the camera! Yeah, see, you don't have to have anything fancy

TOURISTS-
I had a great time going up and talking to random Tourists. They are some of the best people. They are all happy. Why wouldn't they be? They are on vacation... away from stress, in Alaska, and doing something not everyone gets to do.

I met an older couple on my way to the waterfall. The hike was about a 45 minute walk, then hiking over a boulder pile. After making it over the boulders, your sweaty and full of accomplishment, with a great view of a giant waterfall. You could say it was worth it.

Older people make me smile. It was a enjoyable hike to the waterfall with the couple from Maryland. They had so much wisdom and understanding of a mothers life. The husband loved helping the children climb over rocks...and was smiling.
I especially love older couples because I want to love my husband like that. Even someday when I am in a wheelchair, and him there holding my hand.

Cute pics! I cant believe you took pictures of that random older couple. Did they think it was weird that you were taking pictures of them? I wish I were as outgoing as you. You have always been so good with people.
