I just bought the lens of my dreams. It is the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4. Great for low-light (just like where I live) and gives great bocka (the blur).
Ask a bunch of photographers what their favorite lens is - and you will likely hear the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens. It is sharp, small, light, inexpensive and with an f1.4 aperture, fast.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens finds a home with many photographers - from pro to casual - for several reasons.
The first reason for the popularity of this Canon lens is image quality.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is very useful for low-light indoor photography when a flash is not permitted, appropriate or desired. It works very well in a church or gym for example.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is a good lens and focal length for full-body portraits.
Cant wait until it gets here. With spring on it's way, the colors will come to life!!

Wa-hoo!!!!
Sounds great. Low light always seems to get me. I can't wait to hear more about it after you've played with it.
Sounds like your on your way to that photography business. :-)
Do they make one for a Nikon? Because I might have to get one too!
Yes, nikon makes one. The pictures right before this post were taken with this lens and you can tell the difference.
It will be fun.
that was like a foreign language to me (even though it shouldn't be since I once took a photography class!!) But I will have to keep this post in mind one day if I decide to get a fancier camera- now i know the lense to get.
Yes, if I was to do it over, I would buy the body of the camera and then buy lens separately. The ones that come with the camera just don't do what you want.
