About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

Discovering myself

I have been really working hard on photography now that it's fall. Something about turning 30 that tells me I now know who I am...and I finally like it. My new home is bringing out the creative side of me and I love it.

I pulled out my old photography book to take notes and I found final pictures from my class. After looking at them, it brings me back to that time...when I was there, taking the photo. I'm talking about the feeling you get when you look at a picture and can remember the exact feel in the air and the moment when time stood still long enough for you to capture that image.
I am talking about how a picture can make you smile..or cry..or feel love. Something more than just a portrait. This is what I yearn to create.

My hobby is now becoming a reality...I am an artist because I love it. It's the only thing that is me, besides my family.  Do you remember say you wanted to be something when were little? Well, I do. I wanted to be a cowgirl and then a princess for a short amount of time...not an artist. But... the seriousness has just recently hit me. I am working towards being an photographic artist and I will be known as Simple Beauty...and my goal is to try hard to capture what is really simple beauty...

Got to go...colton is crying from his nap.
