About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

A tickety-boo

A tickety-boo. What does that mean exactly? Is that the new COOL word on the street that means "you rock" or does it mean it's like a ticking bomb, ready to explode? An anonymous viewer rated my blog as "tickety-boo". Whatever it means, it has me interested.

Here is something Tickety-boo. I completed Once a Month Cooking. Yes, this is a very daunting task when you have 4 kids. Literally, I started at 8:30am and didn't finish until 8:30pm. 12 hours of cooking. By the end of it...I was thinking "boom." I'm not very organized in the kitchen...which made this hard.  I also washed about 500 dishes and cut up 20 onions (all different shapes and sizes.) I would get one recipe put together, and still the stack of recipes didn't go down.

On the "tickety" side of things, dinner tonight was a breeze. Pull it out of the freezer, pop it in the oven...paint my toenails...steem some fresh brocolli, and WOLLA! My labors had paid off. Stress free dinner. There were little dishes to wash, and the cleanup was a breeze. Tick-Tick-Tick...

Here is the question I ask myself. Will I do it again?
I can't answer it yet. It tramatized me to no end. I even had nightmares lastnight that I was chopping onions and frantically trying to remember to do something... that had to do with cooking. Because I'm not organized in the kitchen, I'm not sure a whole day of cooking is worth...a whole month of not cooking. Does that make sense?

Tomorrow, the whole family (minus Colton) will hopefully survive an outing to the ice skating rink. A tickety-boo.
