My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

15mile hike to Eagle Glacier

Last Sunday Andy, Jordan, and I went on a 15 mile hike to Eagle Glacier. We started at 2pm and it was a beautiful day in Juneau. We were having a really good hike.Jordan found a water hole that was shaped like a heart. He had to take a picture by it to send it to all the girls he loves. He really thinks he is the man.
Andy had to take a break because I was so slow. What can I say, he has really long legs.
7 miles into it we got to a cabin and there was already people staying at the cabin. It was a beautiful setting, right at the base of the lake in an open area where the sun was shinning right on it. It was almost like an invite to the end of the trail. The people were really cool. Jordan and I walked on about 1/4mile and there was the coolest waterfall I have ever seen. It had so much power and we were right there.
So it was 5:30pm and we wanted to get to the glacier. It was really hard after that. Scailing rocks and cliffs. I actually gave up on them and sat and waited. Which was really good. But, the view was worth it.
Here I am at the waterfall again.
Here is the cabin.

And the lake!

At the end of the day, we got back at 10:30pm and we had hiked over 15miles. I had 6 blisters on each foot and Andy was hurting. He kept saying how old he is getting! Wineer! We had a good time. Something about doing something extreem and surviving to tell about it and completeing it that makes it all worth doing it again. The feeling of acomplishment is great.
