About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

THE NATIVITY FOR CHRIST

Have you ever went to bed with thoughts on your mind? How you can do better or how the future is going to be? Last night, as I was going to bed, I had a lot of thoughts that sparked a change...a real change...that had just become apparent to me.
One thing I realized was that I did not have a nativity in my home. How many people don't have one? I thought. In all reality, the nativity should be the center of the whole christmas spirit. The birth of christ and the king of all kings that would come and change the whole world. People waited and traveled thousands of miles to see the baby Jesus.
Growing up we had a huge nativity set that we unrapped at the beginning of the season. I knew the story, but it was always a good refresher to hear it again. Throughout the years, the nativity got moved around and broken and I don't even know if that specific nativity is around. But, My point of this entry is the story that needs to be passed on.

I don't really remember the story as clearly as I should but I want my family and children to know It's importance. It is important and very beautiful. As my children grow, Im sure I will have more of these momments but for now, the nativity can't be forgotten in our lives.

I love everything there is about Christmas. Matter of fact, I am singing a duet to "Silent Night" in Church on Sunday. I haven't sang since Junior High, but why not? Anyway, make sure to put christ first in christmas. He creates the love in our lives and brings us all closer together.

I agree 100% to this -- By the way, I am sure you are going to do amazing on your duet! Wish I could be there!

its fun to see the change in people. as you grow and mature you dont care about what people think as much as you used to. getting up and singing in church! you make me so proud to be your sis. but i still havent grown up that much. i do care too much what people think. i would be way to scared to sing infront of anyone. you will have to let me know how it goes.
