Andy hunted near Hoonah, Alaska (as seen below). A little village on Admiralty.
There were many sightings of brown bears on his trip.
On Friday night, he got his chance.
This is the point and the surroundings where the bear was shot.
I know for most this is a once in a lifetime hunt. So I consider us lucky to have the opportunity right at our fingertips...but I don't want anymore. I don't know where I am going to put everything.

Very cool. I didn't realize that you got a brown bear. Very impressive. It's always nice to have a successful hunt.

Wow..that is kinda gross..and kinda cool. Congrats Andy..but that poor wittle bear! So, what kind of food are you going to make with bear meat? (shudder) Just kiddin, I am sure it is great to eat.. :) Congrats Andy!! I am happy for you!
Actually, you can't eat brown bear...it has a parasite that lives in the meat. It is a trophy hunt and a population control hunt. Some bears you can eat and people say it is good, but I don't know.
