One of the things that makes Alaska unique is the overwhelming amount of bears. Admiralty Island, Known to the Tlingit as Xootsnoowú, or "Fortress of the Bear(s)", Admiralty Island has the highest density of brown bears in North America. An estimated 1,600 brown bears inhabit the island, outnumbering Admiralty's human residents nearly three to one.
Andy hunted near Hoonah, Alaska (as seen below). A little village on Admiralty. There were many sightings of brown bears on his trip.

Very cool. I didn't realize that you got a brown bear. Very impressive. It's always nice to have a successful hunt.
I'm looking forward to seeing Shawn's pictures. Maybe I'll have something on our blog tonight.

Wow..that is kinda gross..and kinda cool. Congrats Andy..but that poor wittle bear! So, what kind of food are you going to make with bear meat? (shudder) Just kiddin, I am sure it is great to eat.. :) Congrats Andy!! I am happy for you!
Actually, you can't eat brown bear...it has a parasite that lives in the meat. It is a trophy hunt and a population control hunt. Some bears you can eat and people say it is good, but I don't know.
I can totally picture you and Andy laying on this rug next to a fire place. You are both wearing christmas sweaters and jeans that are a little too tight. Some Kenny G is playing in the background.......this song to be exact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGtTblTR0YU
As the evening progresses, the subtle flirting turns into a little something more. He softly caresses your inner thigh.....In the soft glow of the fire I see your dark silouettes collide.
AaaaaaaannnnD CUT!
That a wrap people.
And I wonder where Claire gets her wild imagination...
I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING ASH...ok, so In all actuallity I don't think it would be Kenny G because Andy can't stand that kind of music it would probably be something like
Always on my mind by Willie Nelson or I will always love you by Dolly Pardon.
Here is the song that would be playing while we are on the bear skin rug and the fire burning and the snow gently falling outside...
To be repeated for the next 60 years.
