About Me

My photo
Hello! I am Bethany, a mom of 4 beautiful children, a owner of a dog, and married to a miner/hunter. (Camo is a popular color in our home). We recently relocated to the UP of Michigan from Juneau,Alaska...a huge adjustment. I have a passion for photography and documenting our journey through life. But, most of the time Im busy with my kids, hiding in the bathroom for peace and quiet, or trying to find my dog because he runs away all the time. Welcome to our world...always full of adventure.

Kitchen Project

I am starting to Paint the kitchen today. It is nice to see the results after painting a room in your house. What I am wondering is what color? Am I choosing the right color? I'm thinking a suttle yellow on the walls and white trim around the windows/doors. I'm thinking it will brighten the kitchen and warm it up. Keep in mind that there is also bright blue tile counter tops. What do you think?

Blue and yellow are definitely complementary colors. That should look nice. And bright/light colors are perfect for Alaska when you want to warm and brighten things up in the winter.
Good luck with the painting.
Your list of things to accomplish post has inspired me to get busy in September after our visitors have returned home and Carly starts school. I'm still forming my list. I'll let you know.

Be careful with yellow. It is the most irritating color to the eye. That being said, I love yellow.
My house looks yellow, but it is actually cream. Colors darken over a large space. Get help from the paint store so your walls don't glow!
Good luck!
